Red, White & Royal Blue Storyline

Based on the Casey McQuiston Novel of the same name, this story focuses on Alex Claremont-Diaz, the First Son of the president of the United States and his rivalry with the young prince, Henry. After causing a major uproar at the older Prince’s Brother’s wedding, the two are forced to avoid a National incident by up-playing their non existent friendship with a goodwill visit to the UK. Their rivalry soon turns into a forced friendship and then blossoms into something even more. The two try to keep their relationship a secret despite their highly public lives amid his mother’s re-election campaign as the first female President.—garthfan29

Good and funny but missed important details.

It was an inherently good movie. It portrayed Alex’ comedic personality well and Henry’s wittiness was perfect.

But I feel it missed details that I personally feel was very important to the storyline in the book. Such as the fact that Alex’ parents were divorced and how this effected Ellen’s campaign. Also the importance of the thanksgiving scene were they had a family dinner and how it showed something that had effected Alex a lot.

I missed June as well and a big part of the plot went away with her. The whole magazine thing and the White House trio wasn’t there and I could feel it missing.

The portrayal of Nora felt weird as well. As much as I like the actor there was something off. Maybe it’s just my own personal picture I got from her in the book that was wrong but I felt the movie character didn’t show how busy and clever Nora is. I also missed the whole percentage thing with Alex when he came out to her.

And the fact that they removed the whole crisis he had where he called is old friend and figured out who he was also bothered me.

But I understand it’s hard to put so many details into a 2 hour movie and the plot can get a bit crowded but I feel it could have been a better adaptation of the book. Other than that I liked it and I got a good laugh from it.

THIS movie is the cutest movie ever, the most gut-wrenching one too, perfectly shown on screen.

The book, trailers and everything definitely didnt prepare me for this.

Nothing could have prepared me for this, although I loved every second of it.

The actors perfectly portrayed it, I could have not asked for a better adaption.

My only complaint is, wheres June? And why do Alex’s parents not seem divorced? It is very unfortunate how many scenes had to be missed, but truly my best 2 hours ive spent on a movie.

I dont cry during movies, but this one changed that and I am grateful for every tear I’ve shed during this.

And I havent cried while reading the book but the movie made me sob as I already mentioned, and I am very thankful it did.

From now on definitely my favorite movie, I hate romance books and movies but this one made me convinced I actually dont hate them.

Its 4 AM and I will not be sleeping, thats guaranteed.

I love this, i was doubting their chemistry but they really proved me wrong! I personally think they went from enemies to friends a little fast but that’s fine! Otherwise the storyline is so good. If you liked young royals i really recomend this! They’re alike but not the same and that’s what this makes it so good! The acting is also very good and theyre both very underrated! Henrys story arc id also so good, we don’t really know that much about Alex tho. But Alex story with his mother in the movie is still good. This is actually one of my new fav lgbtq movies/series!! The scenes when they don’t like eachtoher doesn’t really give the right tension but when they become lovers it’s so good!
