Miracle Beach Movie Reviews

I Can’t Believe

Scotty McKay (Dean Cameron) is a beach slacker and everything is going wrong. His girl cheats on him and he loses his lousy job. His dream girl Dana (Felicity Waterman) is way out of his league and wants nothing to do with him. Jeanie Peterson (Ami Dolenz) is sent down to Earth. She’s an actual Genie and Scotty finds her lamp after passing out on a bench.

I mostly remember Dean Cameron from Ski School and Summer School. This character is not quite as appealing in his other ones. There is a lot of rando T&A. It’s all rather bland until I Can’t Believe. That song is so horrible that it’s almost satirical. This is a bad B-movie and it doesn’t have the fun exuberance of those other two movies.

Not good, but watchable.

Miracle Beach is sort of a nothing film, with juvenile characterization and script that’s so far from reality.

The lead actor Cameron isn’t good, but the two main girls beautiful and Ami Dolenz a proficient actress. I generally like this archetype, but the comedy and heart’s lacking.

A very underrated rom com from the 90s

Miracle Beach is a 1980s rom com that tells the tale of a lovelorn man named Scotty(Dean Cameron)who is in love with a girl who is an actress called Dana Stanford. One night however he stumbles across a mysterious bottle that unleashes a beautiful quirky young woman who happens to be a genie(Ami). So she helps the lovelorn man to win the woman of his dreams only she ends up falling in love with him. So Scott has to decide who he really loves Dana or Jeannie?

Bottom: Yes its super cheesy and yes the premise is very bizarre in a way think of it like that TV show with Larry Hagman I Dreamed Of Jennie meets lots and lots of titties on show and you get this flick.

I suggest you track it down and see what you think of it. It’s not a bad movie but again it’s very silly. The girl who plays the Genie was really likeable and quirky she kinda reminded me of Kirsten Bell for some strange reason. The guy that plays the lovelorn guy was decent but by god his bushy eyebrows distracted me from time to time.

Martin Mull from Sabrina and an uncredited Dean Cain co star.
